Cool Software Tools - SnagIt

Sharon Simms mentioned something in her blog today -- Keeping ActiveRain Blogs.

She talked briefly about SnagIt. I just had to expand on what Sharon said because SnagIt is just too useful not to share with my fellow Rainers.

SnagIt is the greatest invention since TiVO. I simply couldn't live without it. It's fabulous for grabbing little bits of info off the net and other documents. Basically, if you can see it on a computer screen, you can SnagIt.  It works great for enhancing and adding stuff to graphics too. I don't pay for a lot of software, but I'd pay triple for whatever SnagIt costs. It's worth every penny.

You can get a 30-day trail version for free. But I'll just about guarantee you that you'll be springing the $40 for the full version.

To see just a tiny bit of what SnagIt can do, visit a few of my old posts. Every graphic in these blog entries were captured with SnagIt.

We also use it in many applications on our web site, ThompsonsRealty.com.

Here's just a few examples from the web site:

Graphic Additions  Adding Map Jpegs

I used it last night to put a piece of the actual purchase contract in my "other" blog. We use it to make flyer's, design business cards, and more. Basically SnagIt is a great tool if you EVER have a need to use a graphic, modify a graphic, capture text and more.

I get no cut, no "associate fee" no nothing for promoting SnagIt. It's just a great piece of software. Try it, and you'll wonder how you lived without it.

It is also great for grabbing copy from plagiarizers sites before starting the ground fire.

Hi Susan - in the future, don't wonder, just ask! I don't ever mind sharing anything I know. (well, don't ask for the secret ingredients that go into my bar-b-que rub. Even my lovely bride doesn't know that!)

Hi Jay,  Me and my Husband has been using much older versions of Snagit for years!  Still loving it.  It does take a little getting use to but after that nothing can stop you from what you can get from the web.

Sheesh!  I had this on my list of things to check out but with all these glowing reviews, how can I not get SnagIt?  Thanks for your input, everyone!

Tip:  The functionality you pay for when you buy Snag-it is already built into your computer - for free.  Hit [Shift+Print Screen key] and you'll copy to your clipboard a screenshot of whatever is on your screen.  You can then paste this into any application, cut it, crop it, edit it, add graphics, whatever.  I use this for grabbing screenshots for blog postings
